If you have a sister, recollect Arunagirinathar’s sister who paved way for his enlightenment. So, think of your sister as a form of God and serve her as you would serve God.
When you see your child, recollect how Lord Siva manifested Himself as Pattinathar’s son and freed the merchant from his greed for wealth. And so, serve your child as you would serve the Lord.
It was ThiruNeelakandar’s wife who led him to enlightenment. It was Karaikal Ammaiyar’s husband who led her to enlightenment. So think of your spouse as a form of God, and serve as you will serve God.
When you learn to think of each one of your relations, be it parents or spouse or children or anyone, as a form of God and serve them as you will serve God, then you have gone beyond attachment and are in the threshold of Love.
Joy and sorrow are offshoots of your thoughts — the world is neither joy nor sorrow.
