Living God's Way
God's Greatest Mercy is in His ensuring we forget the past
God’s Greatest Mercy is in His ensuring we forget the past. If we remember everything across births, we may consider thousand people as our spouses. so many parents; so many children; because we have taken so many births; what will the world come to, then!
Recently the media carried an article about a five year old child in Aurangabad, Uttar Pradesh, who had insisted that she be escorted to her husband in their house at Meerut. Giving in to her persistence, her parents took her to Aurangabad, and the child gave them clear directions to her house. She ran up the stairs, telling her parents, ‘There is a vessel with rice, I have hid the key in it; please fetch it for me’ and there it was! Her husband is a 70 year old man, her son is 40 years old. Is all this feasible? It is so difficult to settle debts accrued in one birth; imagine what will happen if someone comes back asking for a debt accrued in some earlier birth!
God has five prime functions: to Create, Protect, Destroy, Conceal and Grace. God works in myriad ways that the limited intellect of mankind cannot fathom, and His Greatest gift to us is ensuring that we do not remember what we need not.
