Know Your Role and Play It Well

Rama does not get angry even with the person who had, by his negative actions, qualified to be his worst enemy -- Ravana

Imagine that your life is the drama of Ramayana. You are given the lead role of the hero — Rama. Perhaps your wife fails to play her role well. Instead of giving you good coffee and attending upon you, she takes the broomstick and starts beating you; she has forgotten that her role demands her to be a good wife, it involves expressing care, ‘Hello! How are you today? How was the day in your office? You must be very tired! Shall I get you some good coffee first or would you rather have tiffin and then coffee?’ She has forgotten all these dialogues and she is coming in a fit of anger, to hit you.

Your role is that of a good husband. You try to console her, bring her out of her angry mood. You play the role of a good husband perfectly. She has not played her role but you play your role perfectly. God will then give you the best performer award definitely, maybe an Oscar! Whatever be the role, whether it is the role of a beggar, a poor man, or of a luxurious man — you be a witness of life and play the role perfectly.

Rama does not get angry even with the person who had, by his negative actions, qualified to be his worst enemy — Ravana. If you can love this whole world by controlling your patience, anger and hatred, you have become Lord Rama.

Every one of us has the option to live as Gods and Goddesses, however people assume themselves to be ordinary mortals and miss the option of living as God
