A Lesson to Learn

Hanuman was the Prime Mover in Ramayana — he saved Rama and Lakshmana from perishing in the battle, fetched the Sanjeevi herb for their revival, saved them from the scheming clutches of Mayil Ravana. Rama would have given Hanuman anything he wanted. And yet, Hanuman did not ask for anything.

See what Hanuman attained as a result of his nobility. He secured Rama Himself. Rama gave him a warm embrace, declaring ‘I give you Myself, for that is the best of me’. Kambar writes, ‘Thannaiye thanakku tharum Thiruppatham’, ‘The Lotus Feet that granted itself to itself’. How did that happen? Since Anjaneya was in constant thoughts of Rama, he had become Rama Himself. Which is why he was able to achieve more than Rama could — because he was Anjaneya+Rama, and hence greater than Rama.

All that Anjaneya did was to be in constant service to Rama and in constant meditation on Rama. No selfish motive. That is the brand equity of Hanuman — swift and constant service to Rama and constant meditation on the Lord’s Lotus Feet. That fetched him Rama Himself. Learn this one lesson from Anjaneya and you can easily attain the Lord.

Becoming God is the easiest task in the world, because you are God actually, just that you need to ask for you to realise it.
