Understanding the Trinity
The Lord’s destruction is aimed at destroying the negative energies
Observe the PooranaBrahmam idol. It has three faces signifying the Holy Trinity: Venkatachalapathy, Varaha and Narasimha. The concept of Holy Trinity is Brahma, Vishnu and Siva, symbolising Creation, Protection, Destruction. In the place of Brahma, I consecrated Varaha to signify creation; in the place of Siva, the Samharamurthy holding Fire in His Hand, I consecrated the RudraSwarupa of Narasimha. This is scientifically also correct.
When the earth was plunged into waters, it was Lord Varaha who rescued the Earth and therefore became its Owner. Varaha (according to the legend of Venkatachalapathy) has not just accorded those few acres for Venkatachalapathy; being the Owner of Earth, He has given the very earth for Venkatachalapathy’s temple.
Why! Nowadays people have the habit of reserving their seats by placing kerchiefs. Varaha fought with the rakshasha who had abducted Mother Earth and it was Varaha who restored her to her rightful place, so obviously the Lord owns Her. And so it is His place that He has given to Venkatachalapathy! The Earth signifies creation which is the concept of Brahma.
‘In Rudras I am Sankara’ - - Narasimha in this idol is representative of this form. When we talk of destruction, we do not mean in the sense of destroying a physical being. The Lord’s destruction is aimed at destroying the negative energies.
It is of no consequence whether or not we pray to God. What is important is, leading a life with a philosophy such that we are worthy of God’s recognition.
