God does not appreciate starvation
When Siddhartha was performing penance in a forest, he would observe total fast for several days together and put himself through severe austerities, assuming that those were the ways to attain the truth.
One day, he was drawn to the strains of sitar music and songs from a group of pilgrims passing through the forest. The lyrics declared, ‘if the sitar is not strung, it cannot produce music; if it is strung too tight, the strings would break and there would be no scope for music.’
For Siddhartha, this was verily God’s Voice telling him neither to starve nor to gorge, but to strike the right balance. And so, he started eating the right quantity of food, understanding that God does not appreciate starvation.
You should learn to love everyone like how a mother loves her child. Then you are either becoming divine or have already become divine.
