Set Your Heart to Seek God
Will not the Lord’s soft feet find this stone-like heart hard to repose?
Arunagirinathar says, ‘He who does not think of the Lord’s feet in at least half-a-minute total concentration is an imbecile’. This focus on the Lord is not so easily achieved.
Arunagirinathar pleads with Muruga, ‘Please help me concentrate on You. You must always be with me. I will never forget you then. Only if I forget, is there a need to remember – and this becomes a vicious cycle’. So Arunagirinathar’s way is ‘Do not forget the Lord’. This is the philosophy of Life.
For this, we need to always concentrate on the Lord’s Lotus Feet, cling on to them for refuge. The Lord must place His Feet on the Lotus blossom of our hearts. Will not the Lord’s soft feet find this stone-like heart hard to repose?
We must melt our hearts with thoughts of the Lord, so that He may rest His Feet on them. Entreat Him, ‘Desires harden the heart. I am a devotee. But I desire You. My heart has become hard as rock in its desire for You. Now it is Your duty to mellow it.’
I am not waiting for a call from anyone. I am only waiting for God’s call.
