A Status Symbol

A few days ago there was an advertisement given by a real estate vendor about a meditation workshop and a meditation campus being built. You know who goes to these meditation workshops? 99% of the participants are people in highly paid jobs, neck-deep in the so-called corporate culture of boozing and partying and misbehaving with the girls in the office. For them, association with a meditation workshop is like membership in Lions club or Rotary club, something they can flaunt in front of others.

How will these people ever learn the art of meditation or leading a well-balanced life? Even those who let go of worldly desires to seek God, find it difficult to meditate; will the conceited ones gain the knowledge? For them it is just a status icon; nothing else. And now real estate builders plan to sell their plots in the banner of such meditation workshops - - what a game in the name of spirituality!

Spirituality and business are hand in glove in today’s world; that is the state of affairs in Kaliyuga!

When people render service to God, they will mellow. They will become good, all their arrogance and body consciousness will leave them and they will attain a noble state in life.
