Growing Old is Inevitable
We should not waste our worldly existence
Muruga is affectionately addressed as ‘manam kamazh ilam pooranan’ – the darling youthful Lord. He is also called ‘kurinchi kizhavan’– the Old God of the Hills. Both are Muruga. You cannot eliminate old age unless you go to a forest and put your body under ‘kaya kalpa siddhi’. You should feed on the divine nectar.
There is no meaning in being dependent on someone else during old age. ‘Mukkalukku ekaa mun, mun arayil veezha mun, kacchi ekambanaiye ninai’. While these two legs are fit enough to carry you, i.e before you resort to using the third leg (i.e the crutch), before your old age leads to your seclusion to a small room near the verandah (porch), focus your thoughts on the Lord Ekambareshwara of Kanchipuram. We should not waste our worldly existence with these pains. It is not worth it.
Accept everything that life has to offer you with cheerful grace, and you shall attain the Light as a consequence
